Founded in 1935 and based in Terrassa, Folgarolas Textil designs and manufactures fashion fabrics by blending textile heritage, innovation, and a strong commitment to sustainability. Its production facilities are powered largely by solar energy, supporting looms and warping machines while the company continues to advance in measuring and reducing its CO₂ footprint.
This commitment to sustainability is reflected in tangible actions aimed at delivering responsible textile solutions for the fashion industry. Folgarolas prioritises organic, recycled, and locally sourced raw materials, all supported by some of the industry’s most demanding international certifications. These include the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS) and Organic Content Standard (OCS) for organic fibres, together with the Recycled Claim Standard (RCS), which verifies both recycled content and full traceability throughout the supply chain.
The company also promotes animal welfare and regenerative agriculture through standards such as the Responsible Wool Standard (RWS) and Masters of Flax Fibre™ certification for premium European flax. In addition, all fabrics comply with STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX®, ensuring they are free from harmful substances.
Beyond material sourcing, Folgarolas Textil continuously improves its industrial processes to reduce water and energy consumption. Solar panels installed at its manufacturing plant, together with its participation in the Carbon Footprint Registry, are part of a broader strategy to minimise greenhouse gas emissions.
Through this forward-looking approach, Folgarolas shares its progress with the CECOT community, convinced that shared knowledge, rigorous standards, and certified transparency are essential to driving a more circular and sustainable textile industry for the future.
