Folgarolas Textil on the 3CAT podcast: sustainable fashion and local manufacturing with a global vision

Folgarolas Textil has been featured in one of the episodes of the 3CAT podcast "Multinacionals de butxaca," a space that gives voice to Catalan family businesses with international reach. In this episode, our CEO, Pepe Garcia Balagué, shares how, based in Terrassa, we've managed to remain true to our industrial roots while moving toward more ecological, ethical, and sustainable textile production.

Throughout the chapter, key aspects of our identity are highlighted:
Local manufacturing: The entire process is carried out in our Terrassa facilities, from the yarn to the final finish.
Environmental commitment: We work with natural fibers, non-toxic dyes, and solar energy.
Quality and traceability: 100% in-house production guarantees complete product control.
International reach: We collaborate with major European brands without losing our essence.

What makes us unique is manufacturing here. We're a company with a past, but with a vision for the future. We want to demonstrate that sustainable, high-quality, and locally sourced fashion is possible. The fabric is just the medium. The message is responsibility.

Our history: textile tradition with a view to the future

Folgarolas Textil was founded in Terrassa in 1935, in the heart of one of Europe's most traditional textile regions. What began as a small family workshop driven by the first generation of the Folgarolas family has evolved over nearly a century into a solid company committed to innovation, quality, and sustainability.

During the first decades, we dedicated ourselves to the manufacture of basic fabrics for the fashion industry, with a strong focus on domestic production. The second and third generations were able to adapt the business to market changes, modernizing industrial processes and focusing on quality as a differentiating factor.

With the arrival of the fourth generation, represented by Pepe Garcia Balagué, Folgarolas took a further step: positioning itself as a supplier of natural and sustainable fabrics for international fashion brands. Without ever abandoning our roots, we focus on materials such as organic cotton, linen, and recycled viscose, and on 100% local production based on environmental respect and traceability.

Today, Folgarolas Textil is much more than a family business: we are an example of how inherited knowledge, commitment to the environment, and constant innovation can coexist to build an industrial project with soul.
